Our Governance

The Macari Foundation is established to help support persons in Stoke-on-Trent who are permanently or temporarily homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless.

This includes persons whose circumstances may have arisen from from personal issues (bereavement, marital or family break down) and may also include contributing factors such as substance misuse, mental health problems or crime and anti-social behaviour.

We help by providing accommodation, food and ongoing support. We firmly believe that our guests are capable of change and will achieve their full potential when offered a secure, supportive, empowering and non-judgmental environment.

It is our mission to provide such an environment and help reverse the spiral of homelessness.

The Macari Foundation is a Registered Charity No. 1168463.

All staff and trustees and agree to undertake their roles and responsibilities in a responsible and professional manner, as required when working with, and in the interests of, vulnerable people.

Our governance is aligned to our Vision and Values and Mission Statement, and concerns how we conduct ourselves in:

  • our work in the day-to-day operation of the Macari Foundation and the Macari Centre;
  • engaging and interactions with customers at the Macari Centre;
  • engaging and interactions with stakeholder organisations – private sector businesses, health and social services, local authorities, emergency services, housing associations etc;
  • and in the promotion of the Macari Foundation.
