The Macari Foundation is committed to helping end homelessness in Stoke-on-Trent.
At the Macari Centre Street Retreat in Hanley, we strive to provide the very best care for our guests and assistance to help them to get their lives back on track. By providing secure shelter, food, friendship and support, all tailored to individual needs, our aim is to provide a stable platform which will help our customers move on and live fulfilling, independent lives.
The Centre provides emergency accommodation for anyone who finds themselves suddenly homeless.
Persons presenting at the Centre will be assessed and given a safe space to sleep, provided with food and any essential items they need such as clothing or toiletries.
When customers are settled with us, our dedicated staff will assess their needs and offer support to help them to secure their own accommodation again as soon as possible.
The Centre offers short term stays for those who need a safe, compassionate, non-judgemental space to the tackle issues that are preventing them from securing and retaining their own accommodation.
Again, customers will be assessed by our expert staff and signposted to relevant support services who will be able to provide support appropriate to their circumstances.
Some guests need time and space to breathe and work out what they want for the future.
We also offer longer term accommodation to those who need ongoing support to gain the confidence and motivation to change their lives for the better.
Our Centre will become their home whilst they stabilise their lives and set small steps on the way to securing their own accommodation.
